Wedding Inspiration

As huge fans of the TLC show "Say Yes to the Dress", we were excited to be a part of Dreamgroup's bridal fashion show Style and Strut this weekend with the master of the dress hunt Randy Fenoli!
We were excited to meet him and totally inspired by listening to him speak.
Randy is passionate about making women feel beautiful on their wedding day and really believes that their dream wedding can be a reality if they stay true to who they are as a couple.
After hearing him speak, we are even more excited about giving couples the wedding of their dreams! We love, being a part of, making 'perfect days' a reality!

What a fantastic year 2011 was, I'm so sorry but our blog really doesn't give it justice. (I'm going to try harder in 2012!)
Hopefully as magazines are released and images are posted online you will get to see some of the extraordinary weddings we were part of this year.

We are now in our 5th year of business, happy birthday to us!
We aren't one to toot our own horn, but we are celebrating in the office this week because over the holiday season we reached a bit of a milestone as a company, we finished our......
700th event!
Wowzer.

It's so humbling to even roll that number over in my mind. It seems unbelievable.
In 2008 we started this little business with some simple goals and a lot of passion.

We really believed that our photobooths could do some good in the world. We now know this is true, and feel stronger about it then ever.

We are blessed every day to see that belly laughs are the best medicine, and paper printed photographs really are to be treasured, tucked into mirror frames, attached to fridges and make great bookmarks. We believe that memories are priceless and when you lose yourself in a laugh and a moment, you are truly found.

We feel incredibly grateful to the community of talented people that we get to work with in the wedding and event industry that has supported us from the start. Everyday I am inspired, as we help Vancouver celebrate to it's fullest. We are so honored to be a part of so many families memories.

Thank you also to all our friends new and old who have cheered for us and faithfully read our blog and commented on our Facebook and gave us shout-outs on Twitter. You guys rock!

We are passionate about spontaneous photography as an art form and we continue to be blown away by the moments captured in the photo booth.
As usual we have more surprises this year, as we see some exciting trends developing in the event industry. Keep and eye out as we will be launching more backgrounds and showing more options for both our "traditional photobooth" and our open concept "portrait station".

Greg and Kristina - SFU Diamond Alumni Centre Wedding Photobooth

We received a very sweet thank you card today from Kristina and Greg who had their reception at SFU Diamond Alumni Centre on August 20 2011.Their day was photographed by Jen from JLS Photography. You can check out her amazing photos here.
It was a pleasure to work with this awesome couple and we were so honored that they were thrilled with our service.
Their guests had no trouble hamming it up with the great mustaches and funny props they brought along.

These last two pictures are what we would call "Photobooth Gold". We live for capturing these kind of moments.

I don't know if you have had a chance to pick up the latest edition of Real Weddings Magazine, but it is gorgeous! We have been a part of Real Weddings for several years and the caliber of wedding stories they cover and amazing local vendors involved continues to raise the bar. You can see the archives of weddings we have been featured in on the Real Weddings Blog.
Our latest ad is a nod to the vintage roots of photobooths.
One of our themes this year is "Nostalgic, Spontaneous, and often Hilarious", which we think perfectly suits our photobooths and the the respect we have for the antique art of instant photography.

One of our weddings was also featured in this issue of Real Weddings!
Erin and Burke had a gorgeous wedding at Terminal City Club.

Their wedding was masterfully organized by Dreamgroup, photographed by Josh Bowie, decor by Upright Decor, stationary by Inspirasian, dresses by Bisou Bridal and Frocks, and jewelry by Jeweliette.

It is so fun for us to be a part of the process of planning a wedding with each bride and celebrate with each couple as their dream day becomes reality! Two styles of photobooths and the Vintage Lace photobooth background

I'm so sorry for the lack of blogging the last few months! We have been super busy and are heading into a very fun Holiday season!

We have 2 styles of photobooths, the traditional photobooth, which if you have seen us at an event in the last few years, you have probably seen this black photobooth.

It brings back all the nostalgia of old time photobooths. The curtain closes behind you and you enjoy a private (often silly) session of 4 pictures, and prints as a portrait style picture in 10 seconds. This photobooth has dozens of background colour options!
We have set up this style of photobooth at literally hundreds of events, and pretty much every venue in the Lower Mainland.

We also have an open-air stand up booth. This is more like a mobile studio with a large backdrop, but it is still fully guest operated at the push of a button.

This booth takes one picture per print (either landscape or portrait style) and prints in 10 seconds.

This month we will be launching more fun background options for this style of booth.
At the Bridal Swap this weekend we launched the Vintage Lace Background.

We are so excited for our 2012 season! We are booking up our summer dates like crazy!
In honor of our 5th wedding season we are launching some amazing new backgrounds!
Our latest background we are calling "neutral damask" its a light grey/ beige and white pattern.
We have love that this will go with every wedding colour scheme and that is a totally new take on damask while still being romantic and traditional. Pretty!

We had read the great reviews about Photobooth Vancouver, but never truly realized that it would be "THE HIT" of our wedding celebration. The staff had set up and had everything ready to go prior to the start time and from the minute the booth opened at 8:00pm, there was a constant queue of family and friends anxious to take shots in the photobooth and wait for their prints to come out.

For the four hours that we had rented, the booth was constantly crowded with people with me often having to pull the, "Sorry! I'm the bride so I get to go to the front of the line" act!

If I could do it all over again, we would most definitely use Photobooth Vancouver because it truly was fun for all ages. The older crowd (60 plus) loved it as well as the little ones who came out with such adorable pictures! We would strongly recommend purchasing more hours than you think you will need, as we did four hours, but once the photobooth started, the time just few by so quickly!

The BEST part? the CD was sent just two days after the wedding with ALL the shots from the booth!!

We love being a part of the very fun milestone birthdays and private parties that happen in the summer. Ivan's 50'th birthday was no ordinary backyard BBQ. Expertly organized by the Dreamgroup team, and pulled off with the help of the creative team at Greenscape Design and Decor, this lavish Hawaiian themed event will be remembered by everyone in attendance.

We are so excited to launch our silver metallic tinsel photo booth background!
This week we used it for the first time at Sandra's 40th birthday party. It perfectly fit her disco theme!

John and Candy are perfect for each other! They had a small ceremony a few weeks before their fun SFU Diamond Alumni Centre reception. Their reception night was full of laughs, dancing, and great friends, and that was just in the photobooth :)
They used the spring green background which perfectly matched their blue and green theme. The bride wore green!

We have the coolest clients. We know without a doubt that we get to go to the best weddings and events in Vancouver.
This wedding was hands down one of the coolest ones we have seen.
Their theme was...CLUE. Like the board game! Appropriately held at The Law Courts Inn in downtown Vancouver.
We helped them design the perfect logo complete with the characters from the game. They provided their guests with the full arsenal of murder weapons for props. Their guests transformed in the black and white photobooth pictures with candlesticks and wrenches in hand.
So amazing! Kudos and Congrats Michel and Chelsea!
If you are thinking about providing props for your guests, I totally recommend going with a theme.

We recently did a photobooth for Stila cosmetics at the Murale store at Oakridge mall. Over the three days that we were there we saw a ton of gorgeous ladies come in and get their make up done and take photo booth pictures. It was so much fun!

I don't know what it is, but the Heritage Hall on Main always attracts the coolest couples! Gian and Rae were no exception. Their very chic red and aqua blue wedding was amazing.
May I just say...our aqua blue background looked awesome! This is our third year with this background and it always looks so good in photo booth pictures. I love it.
If you are using aqua, teal, or tiffany blue in your wedding, you may want to consider this background.

We love Rouge Wet Bar as a wedding venue and we were thrilled when Hannah and Mike wanted to have us as part of their wedding.
Their photobooth pictures were so great, the black and white photos gave it a cute vintage feel and the logo was adorable and tied into their gray and yellow colour scheme.

This was such a fun wedding at Clayton Hall in Cloverdale. It was intimate, and vintage inspired, with a retro rock and roll feel. The bride's dress was so cool with silver polka dots and their fuchsia and black theme was so great.
Michelle works with our friends at Marie Antoinette Cakes so they had an amazing cake and dessert bar.

This post is special to me. We feel so blessed that our photo booth company is able to journey with families during their most important days and leave them with fun memories.

In 2008 we did a wedding photobooth for Vasia and Henry at the UBC Boathouse in Richmond. It was a gorgeous day, organized by LeLe at Le Soirees, and the photographs were taken by Jana Vackova. The pictures are so breathtaking they were featured in Wedluxe Magazine. They are some of my all time favorite wedding pictures. (that's pretty serious!)

This January we were asked to be a part of her first birthday party at! It is so fun for us to watch our wedding couples become families!

I'm so excited to blog about Kristina and Kevin's wedding! This was without a doubt one of our favorite weddings of the year.
For the following reasons:
1. We were hired by a couple that hired us for their wedding in 2008, they have since become our friends and when their sister got engaged, they insisted on bringing us up to her wedding in Whistler. In fact, they hired us as a surprise for the bride. Needless to say she was thrilled!

2. Fantastic venue and vendors. They had the wedding at beautiful Nitka Lake Lodge in Whistler. They also hired the fabulous Jeanie Ow from Studio Jeanie and her assistant for the day Tracey Heppner (both photographers who have shot our family before, because they are awesome!)

3. Their guests were extremely creative in the photobooth. It must have something to do with it being the second wedding with a photobooth in the family. They brought their A game with their posing, their props were awesome and the photos are epic. So much so, we made a little slideshow about them.

We love The Local Public Eatery in Kits! We did a party with them before the holidays. (I'm about a million events behind in my blogging) Here are some of the very cute pictures they took with the damask background.
We have done a lot of events lately for restaurants and the photobooth is always a huge hit! Having a photobooth at a restaurant event builds a lot of buzz and ensures they are going to remember the restaurant the next time they are hungry. Probably because their photobooth picture is hanging on their empty fridge. :)

The Bridal Swap and The Wedding Affair

This coming Sunday Feb 20th is a great day to plan your wedding!
We are going to be at two venues to answer your questions and let you try our photobooth!
At the River Rock Casino, (so easy to get on the transit!) we will be at "A Wedding Affair" from 12:30pm-4pm. Admission is free! RSVP online through the link.

At the Heritage Hall, we are going to be at Vancouver's 1st Annual Bridal Swap. From 10:30am-4pm you can pick up some great second hand deals sold by other brides. There will also be a Bridal and Bridesmaid sample dress auction! Tickets are on sale through their website.

We have a couple wedding shows coming up that are totally worth going to.

A note on wedding shows:
We think that wedding shows are a great way to get to know what Vancouver has to offer for wedding vendors.
We do several wedding shows every year and carefully pick them based on whether we would recommend the other vendors involved. The best kind of wedding shows are put on my actual wedding planners who select the best vendors to be in the show.
Not every wedding show out there has the kind of screening process that the shows we are involved with do. We are confident that when we recommend a show it will be a great experience for you, and you will only be introduced to vendors who wont disappoint!
Wedding shows are a great place to chat with vendors and get some great ideas for your day.

There are two wedding shows coming up that I would totally recommend. These shows are both very different but will showcase the best wedding vendors Vancouver has to offer.

On January 16, 2011 a small group of select wedding vendors will be hosting 'Veil' an informal party at the beautiful Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver for couples like you who are currently planning their weddings. Hey sweet followers! It's that time of year again, the Holidays are here. We are blessed, you are blessed, lets be a blessing to folks in our community that could use some help this Christmas!

We have come up with a plan and we hope you will help us! It's so easy!

1. Upload a photobooth picture (taken in our photobooth) to our FACEBOOK fan page. Just post it on the wall.
2. For every fan picture uploaded, we will donate a can to the local foodbank.
3. Tell your friends (or your aunts, you know they are on facebook) to comment or "like" your picture.
4. For every person who comments or "likes"we will donate another can to the food bank
5. The fan who's picture has the most comments and "likes" on December 30th at 11pm will win $50 to the Cactus Club

This was our second year at Arts Umbrella's Splash Fundraiser. This is always an amazing event and the art up for auction is the best we've seen!

We have two styles of photobooths. Usually we book our black photobooth which is a traditional style of photobooth. This is really popular with weddings, birthdays, reunions etc.

We also have a white 'stand up' style booth which is popular with corporate events. (we call it the stand up, because you don't sit down. Clever, we know;)
This booth allows you to use their logo 'Red Carpet' style as the background. Of course we can always use this for weddings as well! Just ask!

We are lucky to know most of Vancouver's best event vendors. We go to so many great parties, but I've got to say... a good dj is essential and really makes or breaks the reception.

We have really loved working with Vancouver DJ's Beyond Sound, we have seen these guys at many of Vancouver's best parties. They are famous for their Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs, and we have watched them in action. Kid's LOVE them! They know just what they want to hear and really get the kids on the dance floor.

It's always fun when we arrive to set up before the start of the wedding reception. We are usually there at the same time the decor and other vendors are setting up. When we arrived at the Brockhouse to set up for Amber and Cam's wedding, we were so excited about their yellow and grey colour scheme.Complete with candy bar, and hand made signs directing guests to the photobooh and dance floor, it was so cute! We were really looking forward to Krista and Jorge's wedding. Krista is an assistant wedding planner with Dreamgroup, so we knew that her Vancouver Club wedding would be awesome! She assembled a team of the best of Vancouver's wedding vendors!

Perfect theme, perfect Vancouver venue, perfect party!

It's always awesome when fellow wedding vendors get married, you know they have the scoop the best that Vancouver has to offer. Andrea works at Fireworks Event Furniture, they supply the designer decor rental that set the mood for fabulous parties.

They had a very fun Mexican theme to their reception at the Waterfall building near Granville Island. Their photographer was Erin Gilmore, and the food was provided by Peak of Catering.

They used the always fabulous teal blue background and we made them a custom papel picado style logo.

We love working with Roxy Quiksilver, we do several events with them every year. This month we joined them for the "Grand Re-Opening" of the Off the Wall store on Burrard St and Robson St downtown Vancouver.

It was an awesome party and, as usual, people went nuts for the photo booth.

We are amazed how the photobooth unleashes the creativity in some people. We are always seeing poses we haven't seen yet.

Oh how I love these pictures! This couple had the cutest vintage style and they shined in the photobooth! It looks straight out of the 60's. They had a very fun wedding at Chapel Arts in Vancouver.

They even had chocolate mustaches, I told you this is a great idea!

We have been waiting for Pat and Jaclyn's wedding for a year! When they told us that they had a "Robot" theme to their Heritage Hall wedding, we couldn't wait!
Their pictures are amazing! I love how their logo tied in with the theme! They used one of their picture sessions as their thank you card to their guests. You guys are an adorable couple!

Their theme was "The Perfect Pair" and they had pears on their logo, it doesn't get any cuter! Gabby and Keith had a very fun wedding surrounded by their friends and family at the Fortune Seafood Restaurant in Metrotown.
I love how their yellow theme looks with the black and white damask backgroud. Pear-fect!

During the course of an event, there are often themes that develop in the pictures. In this wedding I noticed a lot of beautiful innocent children, with their silly parents. I love it!

High school reunions are so fun! It's always a little awkward at the start as everyone gets reacquainted, but nothing breaks the ice, and brings back the memories like a photobooth! Old friends hop in the photobooth together and it's like no time has passed, they are taken back to high school.
Recently we went over to Naniamo on Vancouver Island to help Dover Bay Secondary celebrate the ten year reunion of class of 2000. The photobooth perfectly captured the reuniting of old friends!

As you can see from their logo, finding corporate sponsorship is a great way to have a free photobooth at your event! The sponsor loves the branding they get on every picture, and the party loves all the free pictures!
